  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for coating
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles, chocolate glaze, or cinnamon sugar

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness

If you don't have a cutter, you can use a glass and a smaller circle cutter for the center

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350F 175C

Carefully place the donuts in the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove the donuts and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil

While the donuts are still warm, toss them in powdered sugar to coat

If desired, add your favorite toppings like sprinkles, chocolate glaze, or cinnamon sugar

Serve the homemade donuts warm and enjoy!
